Obama can learn from PGMA

I'm not a big fan of politcs but this raised my brow and made me laugh so hard.

When Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita was asked by media what lesson Arroyo could learn from Obama he answered:

"First of all, our President is ahead of Obama and probably, I would think that if there's anything to be learned, it should be President Obama learning from President Arroyo. And wouldn't we be proud to say that the Philippines continues to be an 'island of calm' because of the present crunches?" he said, when asked by media what lesson Arroyo could learn from Obama."

ANO NA?!

President of one of the most powerful countries learning from the President of a 3rd world country?! C'mon! Patriotic ba sya or sadyang bulag at sunud-sunuran sya?

Eto pa..

"He’s young, he has been a senator for some time. And he has a strong background as a lawyer and his schooling is very impressive. I see him as very confident and decisive,” With the support of the American people, I believe he can pull his country “out of the rut they are in.

Such... strong words. Rut? Kung ang US eh rut ano pa ang Pilipinas? Nabubulok na sa ilalim ng lupa?

Although I agree with Aodhan- "He can learn from Arroyo. Bad examples are teacher too"

Siguro ang pwedeng matutunan ni Barack kay Arroyo is kung paano magpahupa ng rally or coup de etat

A friend actually joked about this.

GMA: Dear Barrack, attached in this mail is a tutorial on how to cheat your elections using Cheat Engine.
Barrack: Is that what you use in your elections?
GMA: "Oh noes, we use mathematics. You know? Dagdag/Bawas?

=))

Of online games and female gamers

In a male-infested online game, there's a  0.000000000001% chance that you will find a REAL female gamer. Oh you know what I mean when I stressed on the word "REAL." *cough*chixilog*cough*

In the Philippines, it's very typical that when an avatar tells (everyone) that she's a girl, they'll ask for her Friendster and/or YM account to check if she's really a girl. Once they're sure, they'll start spamming her with private messages or interview her through chat channels. They'll ogle like they saw Maria Ozawa while walking in a mall.

I've had my fair share of being a Maria Ozawa (refer to the previous paragraph. hindi ako feeling ok? :p ). I was still new to online games and I started at Ragnarok. I checked their website and saw that they featured players. I submitted my "form" with my picture just for the heck of it :p A few days later... Woot! I was on their website

The whole time  I was in-game, 3 or 4 players asked me if I was the same TUKNENENG on the website and they were asking for my Friendster. But THIS guy "outshined" them all

Boy: Ikaw ba yung TUKNENENG sa site?
Me: Uh... opo ^^
Boy: Pakasal tayo
Me: Ha? Eh madami pa akong kailangang bilhin eh.. (in-game wedding in Ragnarok costs 2m back then and I don't have that much Zeny  )
Boy: Ano pa kailangan mo? Bibilhin ko.
*PMs to friend* Me: May nag PM sa aking player. Bibilhin daw nya gusto ko basta lang pakasalan ko sya LOL. Kung tarantado lang ako, peperahan ko to HAHAHAHA!
Friend: Edi perahan mo LOL!

It was a lesson learned not to tell that you're a girl or worse post your profile in a site where gamers frequently access. From then on, I started using male avatars to avoid these kind of experiences. This may apply to other female gamers as well.

Guys pouring attention moderately is nice but more than that is irritating. It's ok to ask for Friendster or YM and the likes but when a girl says no, don't push it. Put chatting to moderation as well because most prolly they're PL-ing or farming. Nakakaistorbo kayo >:p

Harassment is a no-no. I've heard and read testimonies from female gamers that were harassed because they didn't want to give their Friendster or stopped talking to them because she's doing something. I don't see why these guys resort to such derogatory acts. Haven't you seen or interacted with a girl in your entire life? :bash:

Another evidence that female gamers do exist is through competitive tournaments. I know you've seen them especially during the Ragnarok World Championship 2008. There were female competitors up there! I've also seen female players that were a part of a team during my CUS legs and they can really pack a punch ;;) This only proves that female gamers can be as competitive and hardcore as their male counterpart. So guys, let's remove the notion that female gamers are weak. I've whopped alot of guys' asses in PVP ;) )

Although the brain of a female specie is more haywired than a male's, our level of interest for games, be it online or console, are the same as yours. And yes, female gamers DO exist. The author of this entry is one of the many that's lurking and disguising themselves.

Wag ka ngang mag-english!

I've been playing Grand Chase for quite sometime now (which is very obvious :p ) and there's only one thing I noticed; some players are reprimanding/quarrelling with me for 'speaking' in English.

I bumped into some players who either reprimand me or make a big deal out of it. EH ANO NGAYON KUNG NAG E-ENGLISH AKO?! :bash:

It would've been ok if they say something like "pwede po magtagalog ka kasi hindi ko maintindihan" but noooo..... "wag ka ngang mag-english!" Why do they have to be so rude?

I am assuming that non-English speakers (or at least those who doesn't speak English on a daily basis) think that those who do are intimidating, has a high social status, educated, and the likes. They get this impression that they're bragging thus being rude.

I specifically hate it when people tell you to speak in tagalog kasi nasa Pilipinas ka :eh:  HANU VAH!!!!

Ok. You'll prolly tell me, "kids!" But what gave them these impressions?

Why I speak and write in English:

  • English words are shorter than tagalog.
  • Work.
  • Blame my English proficiency training when I worked at a call center
